North to Alaska?

1stDayNot much to report our first day in route to Alaska. Leaving on our anniversary, we traveled only as far at Salem, less than 60 miles, only to realize we were not going to get to Alaska very fast the way the truck was running. Discovered that finding a diesel mechanic on Saturday is quite rare. We were blessed to find Certified Power Systmes (CPS). They got us in quickly and tested a failed fuel pressure sensor. Good news is that it’s only a $38 part. Bad news is they can’t get it till Monday and it will take 4 hours to install! So a 2 day delay. But the blessing is that they were gracious enough to allow us to park next to the shop….and…let us plug in an extension cord so we have WiFi and power. ALSO, Salem Ale Works right next door!

  1. A real bummer but glad you found someone to repair the truck and provide such a nice overnight parking place! Now only you guys would come up with it being right next door to a brew pub. Have fun working through the brews and we will catch up with you on the road.
